Rave Inspired Makeup!

A few of my friends were going to 'Core blimey' the other weekend, so I thought I'd do makeup and nails rave style!! I did this whole look using non premium beauty brands as I wanted to also do an affordable look for everyone!

I used benefit eye primer as I do not yet have another one to use. This is the only premium Beaty brand product I have used! Also this is the first time I have EVER put eyeliner on myself! So I know it's not perfect and needs perfecting so please don't be too hard on me :D

These are the products I used:

• Primer - Maybelline baby skin
• Foundation - Bourjois healthy mix (shade 53)
• Concealer - Seventeen Phwoarr paint
• Eye primer - Benefit stay don't stray
• Highlighter - MUA champagne eyeshadow
• Eyeshadow - MUA Poptastic palette
(Cool cyan, lime sizzle, pizzaz purple, cherry sour & jade jazz)
• Eyeliner - Maybelline eye studio lasting dram gel liner
• Mascara - Rimmel extreme black volume mascara flash x10
• Brows - Barry M brow kit
• Cheeks - MUA mosaic blush (English rose)
• Bronzer - Bourjois bronzing powder
• Lip liner - Avon glimmer stick (pink cashmere)
• Lipstick - Sleek lipstick palette (Jewel)

If I did this look again I would add silver gems to eyes to give it some sparkle :) If you would like to see any other makeup inspired posts comment below :D

For my nails I wanted bright nails that would stand out so I found a glow in the dark top coat! & it did actually work!!! The only problem is I couldn't get a good picture of them :( To get the dots I used a dotting tool from Avon. Comes with dotting tool one end and brush the other end!

Nail polish I used:
• Yellow - OPI : I just can't cope-acabana
• Orange - OPI : Where did suzi's man-go?
• Green - Barry M Jelly High Shine : Greenberry
• Blue - Barry M : Blueberry
• Pink - OPI : Kiss me I'm Brazilian
• Purple - OPI : A grape fit
• Top coat - Essence : Glow In the dark

Superdrug & Boots Haul!

I got given some gift vouchers in my Christmas card off my auntie & uncle! So I just had to go on a bit of a shopping trip (any excuse)

Firstly I went into Superdrug. I love their MUA makeup! It's a bargain at £1 a lipstick and it's really good quality. I picked up 2 new lipsticks in shade 9 & flamingo. These are brilliant because you also get a little lipgloss in the bottom of the lipstick. Two for the price of one!
I also for a new eye shadow palette from the lux range. It has 3 colour eye shadows and a eye shadow primer for £4. Lastly I got a mosaic blusher in browns and bronzes for £2.50.

I then decided to go into wilkinson's as they have started doing essence makeup! So I thought I'd buy a few more bits. I got all about nude eyeshadow. I love these colours and the way they apply and only £3.50. I also picked up one of their 3D eyeshadows. They are very shimmery and look really good for highlighting, which was £2.80. As some of you know I love doing my nails, and doing French nails can be a real challenge sometimes especially on your own nails so been I saw their French manicure brush I had to buy it and try it. And for only £1.60 how could I say no!

Finally I went into boots! I went in the other week and saw that Boujois were doing a deal if you spent £15 you got a free gift! So when I got my voucher it was a must!! I wanted to buy a foundation to wear everyday and then use my benefit foundation for nights out and special occasions. I got their healthy mix foundation in shade 53 light beige £9.99. Then I have been looking at their bronzers that look chocolate pieces! And I decided to get the bronzing powder and highlighter one! It comes in a cute little box that opens like a book! So cute at £7.99. I also picked up one of their eyeshadows in the shade extrait de fard. Which a lilac sparkly glitter. I used my boots points on this which was £6.99.

Then I went to the seventeen makeup where if you bought 2 products you got a free jewelled eye shadow palette. Which had 4 eyeshadows in it and a mirror! Their is an electric blue, brown, black and a gold eyeshadow. Lovely for the party season. So I got a new concealer which was the new phwoarr paint in medium. It looks like Benefits bo-ing so thought I would try it for £5.49. Then I got their new wow! Tan liquid glow. I love bronzer but sometimes I like a bit of shimmer, so though this would be an idea to try out. This was £5.99.

That's everything I got on my shopping trip the other day! If you have any of these products please let me know what you think of them :)

Bourjois 1 second nail polish remover

Latley I have really got into this brand! I have bought a few of their products now and love all of them. This is brilliant for a quick change of polish.

It obviously comes in a pink bottle (which made me want it more) and inside is a black sponge soaked with nail polish remover and a hole in the top of the sponge so you can place your fingure in. It's really easy to use. Just pop your fingure in & twist a couple of times and your nail polish is completely off!!! Yes completely off! It seems too good to be true but it really does what it says! Gone in 1 second!!

I would definitely recommend this. Also great if your going on holiday instead of packing a bottle of nail polish remover and cotton pads. It can take a lot of room up. Well not anymore!!
I bought mine from boots for £4.99 :] definite must have.

Tanya burr nail polish!

I have done a lot of shopping over the last month & on one of my many trips to Superdrug I came across tanya burr's nail polishes. I bought 3 as they were on 3 for 2. I got peaches & cream, bright and early & be bright, be happy, be you.

I love these polishes. They apply really well & they are not runny. The colours are very pigmented and 2 coats of polish is enough! My favourite is be bright, be happy, be you. Obviously because I'm obsessed with pink! I will defiantly be buying more!

Christmas nails!!

Yes! It's only 8 sleeps till Christmas!! Who's excited? I've been doing lots of Christmas nails lately for clients which has got me a little excited. Even if I'm working all over Christmas! So I thought I would share some of the nails I've done :)

Most of them are acrylic nails with gel polish on top. I use red carpet manicure gel polish, which I love to work with especially doing nail art. I think my favourite nails are the penguins, personally I think they are really cute!

Too faced - Lip Primer

I bought the beauty editors kit from too faced a few months ago & i love it. It made me fall in love with the brand. One of the things i got in it was the lip primer. I've never used a lip primer before so i wasn't expecting much from it at all. I applied it before a night out and used Limecrime Countessa Flurescent . I was really surprised that i did not have to top up my lipstick at all that night! Which is great because i was able to spend my night on the dance floor and not in the toilet every 5 minutes to check if my lipstick needed topping up. When i got home from my night out i took my makeup off as normal and it still wouldn't budge, but i got the majority off (In the end.) When i woke up the next morning it was still their!

I honestly don't think that a lipstick has ever lasted that long on my lips before. So it is now one of my must haves!!!

The packaging is very simple, but cute. It has a screw lid and is applied just like a lipgloss with a sponge tip applicator!

I will definatly be purchasing a full size of this product & lots more from too faced

Tangle Teezer - 'The Original'

I have heard so much about 'Tangle Teezer' & decided while I was in boots the other week to buy one and see what all the hype was about. I do have terrible trouble with my hair. It's gets knotted and tangled very easily and I find it very hard to get a normal brush through it without hurting myself. I didn't quite believe that this would actually work but IT REALLY DOSE!!!! I love it, & would not go back to using a normal hair brush. You can use it with wet or dry hair, which is brilliant cause who wants loads of brushes all for different times! It's lightweight and just glides thought your hair so easily and effortlessly. Plus they come in different colours!! Defiantly recommend this product it does exactly what it says on the packet

Halloween Makeup

Hey!!

Well after months of planning Halloween is now over. But I have to say it's the best Halloween yet :)

I had so much fun sorting out my hair, make up and outfit, I actually changed 3 times before I was happy! I know!! In the end I was pretty happy with my decision. My first idea was a spider, but when the costume came I really didn't like it. It was made of a horrible material and just looked tacky (to put it nicely.)

I then went and bought a zombie nurse outfit from B&M. It was really good value for money at £9.99. I also went and bought a stethoscope from my auntie's fancy dress shop. I came up with 2 make up ideas. The first one was really out their and maybe a little bit too much (Especially the blood on the chin.) However I did really like the blue/green and black eyes. But I thought it might be a little bit too much so I then decided to tone it down a bit. Which I did like much better and not as much blood.

(Please Excuse my hair!)

I still wasn't happy and I have always wanted to go as a Barbie doll (Don't really know why) , so I thought why not have a try at being a living doll. I believe Halloween is for scary and not for pretty but I wanted to bring a little element of pretty to it. So why not with a living doll! I've never done makeup like this before but I really enjoyed doing it! My favourite is my lips. I love this look (think I might have to do it more often haha!) & to add a little bit of pretty and cute to the doll I had to have pink and black bows in my bunches :)

Benefit Cosmetics 'Cheeky sweet shop'

As some of you may know I am a bit of a Benefit Cosmetics freak! I love nearly all of their products and most of my makeup kit is Benefit. I think it's the cute packaging that attracted me to their counter first. One product and I was hooked. Their Christmas collection is just amazing from the mini stocking and miniature products to their gift sets. I chose this set because I absolutely love their blushes. I already had some that have come with their other kits and I have a full size Hoola, dandelion and Watt's up. I am always going on holidays and weekends away so thought this is perfect for travelling with. I can just take one box with all my blushes in. Which is perfect for going abroad as their isn't as much weight.

They look the same as the full size blushes except for Rockateur. In this kit it doesn't seem to have the same shimmer to it as the full size one. But I haven't used the full size to compare it to, I'm just going off what I can see.

Also in this kit you get your mini blush brush as in all your kits and products. I love this idea because if you are taking their products away and don't have much space most of their products have literally everything you need in them to do your makeup look. And you also get your tips and tricks booklet to give you some ideas of daytime and nightime makeup looks.

This kit is amazing value and gives you a chance to try out 7 of their blushes for only £29.50

Bare Minerals 'Get started kit'

So i've been looking changing my foundation and thought what a perfect time to look at changing from a liquid foundation to powder. I have always used liquid foundation and its all i've ever really known, but i really fancied a change. I decided to go to bare minerals as i have looked at their products before and a few friends have used their products and have said how good they are.

I decieded to get the 'get started kit', and as it says on the box everything is in this kit to get you started, even includes 3 brushes! You can get the kit in 4 colours. Light, Medium, Tan and Dark. Each kit come with 2 mini foudation pots. I bought the medium kit and it came with Medium and Medium Beige. Also in this kit you get warmth all over face colour and mineral veil finishing powder.

As well as these products you get your prime time foundation primer and your 3 brushes. This kit is amazing value for money at £49. You get your full flawless face brush, flawless applictation face brush and maximum coverage concealer brush. These brushes alone would cost £57. The brushes are so soft, and easy to use with the product. So all in all this kit is brilliant for a beginner like myself, to try the brand out and their main face products.

Girly/Designer Nails

I did my nails the other day ready for a night out which was the perfect time to do these as I have been wanting to do pink girly nails for a while now. I found a nail stamping plate on etsy from chocolate vanity last month with Barbie and designer images on. Perfect for what I wanted to do. The hardest part was deciding which images to use first. As my nails are short at the moment some of the images are too big for my nails.

My favourite image has to be 'Choose juicy,' I'm a Big Juicy Couture fan which is one of the reasons I bought this plate. As I couldn't use some of the images I decided to use some nail stickers I got from 'Nailtopia' and 'Charlie's nail art.' They are great value for money and good quality

Get Scary Nails For Halloween!

Halloween is just over a week away!!!

I am very excited, I love getting dress up and trying new things out that you can't normally get away with! I have done a few nail designs so far my favourite is my 'Nightmare before Christmas nails.' Using Nail harmony acrylic and Gelish polish.
I used Gelish Black Shadow and Sheek white for the base colour and for the nail art. I think Gelish polish is very good to use to do nail art. To do the stripes and detail on his face I used different size dotting tools! I don't very often use a dotting tool to do dots.

I have also done Frankenstein inspired nails using Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish. I used Show me the money (green) as the base coat and then used black stretch limo for the detail. On the multi-coloured nail I used a white base coat (white hot) so when I put the colours on they show up more vibrant on the nail. The colours I used are show me the money (green), 9 inch heels (purple) and Tangerine on the rocks (orange.) I tried to make the colours blend together as best as I could using a nail art sponge or you could use a makeup sponge, just to help get rid of the ridged line between each of the colours. Then on top I put a glitter top coat, glitteratzzi. Just to give it a bit of sparkle! No ones nails are complete without a bit of glitter :)

What is your favourite Nail polish/Gel polish to do nail art with?
